Participação de Crianças na Concepção de um Portal Infantil na Internet

Resumo: A tecnologia da Internet tem possibilitado o uso do computador não mais como mera ferramenta de trabalho, mas principalmente como nova mídia. Aplicações veiculadas na Internet estendem e ampliam as possibilidades de construção de conhecimento através do acesso à informação e da interação entre as pessoas. Enquanto os educadores reconhecem o papel dessa mídia na formação dos jovens e das crianças, pouca atenção tem sido dada à criação de espaços na Internet para o universo infantil. Argumenta-se neste trabalho que tais espaços devem respeitar os direitos básicos da criança à informação, proteção e participação. Com o objetivo de possibilitar a participação da criança no design de um Portal Infantil, suas concepções para espaços virtuais na Internet são investigadas. Resultados da abordagem participativa nas fases iniciais de design de um portal são mostrados e discutidos.

Abstract: The Internet technology has enabled the use of computers not only as a work tool, but mainly as a new media. Applications conveyed through the Internet extend and amplify the possibilities of knowledge construction through the access to information and interaction among people. While educators acknowledge the role of this media in the education of the young, less attention has been given to the creation of Internet spaces for the child. In this work we argue that such spaces should respect the basic rights of children to information, protection and participation. Aiming at enabling children´s participation in the design of a Portal for children, their conceptions for virtual spaces in the Internet are investigated. Results of the participatory approach in the initial phases of the design of a portal are shown and discussed.
